SUGGESTED MESSAGE TO YOUR GOLFING MEMBERSHIP, CUSTOMERS AND CONSTITUENCY
Dear Golfer:
Did you know that lawmakers in Sacramento may soon TAX GOLF? That’s a tax on greens fees, driving range fees, cart rentals, lessons, club memberships and dues . . . on and on it goes! This unfair tax -- which will average about 10% statewide -- singles out golf for taxation. Other sports and recreational activities are not being similarly taxed.
This is a REAL threat to the golf industry and to golfers in California . Without action now, this tax could become law on April 1, 2009.
The California Alliance for Golf is working to mobilize Golfers in California to stop this tax now. Please visit www.forecalifornia.com today to learn more about this threat and the many ways you can get involved to stop this unfair tax.
There is still time to stop this unfair tax.
California needs a budget fix – but it should not come at the expense of California ’s golfers and the golf industry. There are other solutions, and the lawmakers need to hear from California ’s golfers today.
To get involved and to make your voice heard, visit www.forecalifornia.com today.
Thank you,
The California Alliance for Golf
